Ferrograph Mods

 A series of mods to improve the base performance of the Ferrograph RTS-2 and the ATU

 And the mods to enable the use a computer.

Some of the "Mods" will include

1) Changing I/O sockets from jack to XLR type (Jacks are old telephone type with Small tip!)

2) Adding switchable phantom Power to the input jack (Only on balanced input to permit the use of measurement Microphone)

3) fitting ATU with USB audio adaptor and USB hub with internal power supply ( also permiting some optical measurements)

4) Adding 2nd buffered "scope out BNC" on rear to connect to the ATU.

5) Adding BNC input on rear to oscillator  level controls to permit sweep input from USB adaptor.

6) Add a couple of internal screening shields to reduce cross talk.

7) fitting IEC mains socket (with filters)

8) Add relay to shut Wow and flutter osc board when not in use (to reduce leakage) 

Some of the REBUILD will include

1) Replace ALL electrolytic capacitors.

2) Replace all critical resistors with metal film type, Checking ALL resistors for correct values.

3) Check the residual noise levels of all Transistors and Diodes in Measurement chain. (replace as required)

4) Clean and refurbish all switches and Pot's

5) Recalibrate.

Some of the Extra Functions 

1) Room measurement (RTS2 and ATU used as Calibrated low noise preamp)

2) Sweep responce testing (with full control of levels)

3) Mic testing

4) Speaker testing

5) Anayisis of residual distortion and noise.

6) Scope Functions
